The Hot Springs Big Band Concert Series is a series of three concerts featuring big-band orchestras will be held this fall in Horner Hall at the Hot Springs Convention Center featuring the Harry James Orchestra on Saturday, October 9; The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra on Friday, November 12, and Jukebox Saturday Night on Friday, December 3, sponsored by Visit Hot Springs.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the show will begin at 7 for each of the three concerts. Tickets, at $35 per concert for reserved table seating, are now on sale HERE.
“We’ll have the dance floor set up for each of the shows,” Bill Solleder, Director of Marketing said, “and we encourage everyone to get up and dance to the sounds of these legendary orchestras.”
Jukebox Saturday Night is a musical revue of the great big bands from the 1930s, ‘40s and ‘50s. The performances celebrate America’s Swing Era, including the greatest hits of Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Jimmy Lunceford, Harry James, Artie Shaw, Cab Calloway, Benny Goodman, Bunny Berigan, Count Basie and others. Vocal selections will include songs made famous by Frank Sinatra, Doris Day, Bob Eberly, Helen O’Connell, Rosemary Clooney, and other vocal idols. It performs various styles of music including swing, ballads, cha-chas, waltzes and tangos.
