Event Date: January 25 - May 11

Mid-America Science Museum recently announced the opening of its newest traveling exhibit, the Animation Academy, presented by Stage 9 Exhibits. This immersive exhibit will open on Saturday, January 25th, and run through Sunday, May 11th, offering visitors a hands-on journey through the history of animation.

Mid-America Science Museum is located at 500 Mid America Boulevard in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM and Sunday from 1 PM to 5 PM. To purchase tickets or for more information, please visit midamericamuseum.org or contact the museum at (501) 767-3461.

From the early days of hand-drawn animation to the rise of computer-generated imagery (CGI), visitors will see how the medium has evolved over time and how new technologies have reshaped the industry. The exhibit also features an exploration of the animators and techniques involved in creating iconic Warner Bros. cartoons, like Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, and Tom and Jerry.

The Animation Academy also examines stop-motion animation techniques, where physical models, puppets, and figures are brought to life frame by frame. Visitors will be able to explore sets and models from famous stop-motion films, including works by popular animators like Tim Burton. The exhibit also offers hands-on opportunities to experiment with stop-motion techniques using 3D models. Visitors can create their own scenes, edit them, and even share their animated creations.
