Five-state Family-friendly Bass Fishing Club to Bring 30th Anniversary Fall Tournament to Hot Springs in October

HOT SPRINGS NATIONAL PARK, Arkansas — More than 70 teams of bass-fishing enthusiasts from five states will compete on Lake Hamilton in October when the family-friendly Quad State Bass Club holds its 30th anniversary Fall Tournament.

“We are expecting at least 70 teams from Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas to take part,” said Bobby Wilson of Arkansas, the Quad State sponsorship co-chairman. “Total participation, including family members, and guests, should be about 200.”

“We are really looking forward to hosting the Quad State Bass Club and its family members on Lake Hamilton this fall,” Visit Hot Springs CEO Steve Arrison said. “Hot Springs is already known internationally as a welcoming host city for fishing tournaments and their fans, and we are especially eager to show the diverse members of the Quad State Club what great hospitality is all about.”

“The tournament will be held October 21 – 23 out of the Arkansas Game and Fish Hatchery ramp on marvelous Lake Hamilton,” Wilson said. “Quad State Bass Club, as an organization, encourages its members to bring their families and friends to every Quad Tournament. Bottom line: We are a family-oriented organization. We are looking forward to the Hot Springs Hospitality.”

Quad State Bass Club was founded in 1993 by Thomas Campbell Sr., with clubs in Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. Clubs in Missouri joined several years later. The club’s motto is “Take Care of Our Lakes and Lands — They Don’t Belong to Us, We’re Merely Borrowing Them From Our Kids.” The club’s tournaments, in keeping with its conservation mission, are all catch-and-release events. It also sponsors an outdoor education program, Get Hooked on Fishing — Not on Drugs, that features youth fishing derbies in its member states.

Quad State Bass Club has associate clubs in Dallas, Fort Worth, Jasper, Texas, Little Rock, Pine Bluff, Oklahoma City, Springfield, Mo., Kansas City, St. Louis and Zachary, La.
