HOT SPRINGS NATIONAL PARK, Arkansas — As if the regular Bridge Street LIVE Halloween bash weren’t enough to give you the creeps, a Zombiethon crawl has been added to give you an additional case of the willies on Thursday evening, October 31.
“In addition to all of the usual Bridge Street stuff — vendors, food trucks, live music, bounce house, costume contest, witch cackling and werewolf howling competition — we are adding a ‘Zombiethon’ crawl to the event for Halloween this year,” Visit Hot Springs Special Events Manager Alexis Hampo said.
“I'm just about freaked out that we will be teaming up with Tri-Lakes Court Appointed Special Advocates to bring another ridiculous event to the Bridge Street LIVE Entertainment District. A zombie crawl just makes sense.
“I really can't wait to see a bunch of zombies wandering through Bridge Street LIVE. It's going to be a scary good time, and it benefits a great organization to boot. CASA provides compassionate volunteers who advocate for abused and neglected children in the foster care system, and all the money we collect from entry fees will go to that cause.
“The annual Glow on the Row downtown trick or treating event, as well as the very popular trick or treating in the Quapaw Prospect Historic Neighborhood will make downtown Hot Springs the best Halloween location in the State of Arkansas.”
The CASA Zombiethon begins at 6 p.m. in the Bridge Street Entertainment District. Entry fees for the Zombiethon are $30 and competitors may sign up at https://trilakescasa.org/event/1st-annual-bridge-street-live-zombiethon/
Participants will receive a swag bag, T-shirt and a medal. Packets may be picked up Wednesday, October 30, at the CASA offices and on Thursday in the Bridge Street Entertainment District. The zombie “crawl" will begin at the Craighead Parklet and go throughout the Entertainment District.
Awards will be given for the most disgusting entrant, best couple, best group, best pop culture theme, best zombie kid and 2024 Zombie of the Year.
In addition to the Zombiethon there will be a costume contest and a wolf howling and witch cackling competition with $1,000 in cash prizes sponsored by The Gangster Museum of America and Historic District Antiques.
