Grace Chapel has been a dream of mine for many years. As Grace is freely given, it is my hope that people can freely visit my chapel and enjoy the peace and love that it has to offer. Named in honor of my grandmother, "Grace" is a gift of love for all!
Grace Chapel was built to resemble the one room country chapels of yesteryear. The small white washed chapel with a bell tower and high pitched roof has always held a place in my heart. Grace Chapel features a post and beam style structure with pine plank flooring and six pane wooden windows that can be opened on nice days, Central Heat and air is also available for comfort. The walls and ceilings have the look of old knotty wood. For lighting, I chose vintage style, rusty lanterns that hang from iron hooks, the cornice boards are back/up lit with color changing LED lighting. A wooden cross above the double entrance doors is also back lit with LED. I spent many hours searching for and transporting the pews. They are over one hundred years old and come from a church in Philadelphia, I had them cut down and refinished in North Carolina. When I picked them up I was surprised to see that the pews had podium style hymnal stands. I had never seen these before, to add to their uniqueness, barn hinges were used to replace broken spring hinge supports.
I designed the front walls to "swing" open as doors, this allows for overflow guests to have clear view of the events going on inside. The Bell tower supports a primitive black iron school bell with a pull rope for ringing.
Grace Chapel will give you the feeling of stepping into a primitive church when times were simple and Sundays were sacred.
