Lake Catherine State Park will be temporarily closed to all recreational activities beginning Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022, through Saturday, March 18, 2023. During this time, crews will perform needed maintenance, including repairs and replacement of the inground sewer infrastructure.
Nestled in the Ouachita Mountains on the shore of 1,940-acre Lake Catherine. The park offers rental boats (year-round), a marina offering bait and fuel (summer only), a launch ramp, standard pavilion, picnic sites, playgrounds, laundry and trails. Gifts, groceries, snacks and ice are available at the visitor center (year-round) that overlooks the swimming area and nature center (summer). Nestled along the shore are 18 fully-equipped cabins with kitchens (most with fireplaces) and a boat dock. Seventy Class A campsites including Premium, Preferred, Class A sites and two Rent-A-Camp sites dot the lakeshore and secluded woodlands. Interpreters provide guided hikes, boat tours, programs and workshops during summer or by advance request year-round.
