This state park is nestled in the Ouachita Mountains on the shore of 1,940-acre Lake Catherine. The park offers kayak and stand-up-paddleboard rentals (year-round), a Marina offering boats with motors, bait, and fuel (summer only), a launch ramp, standard pavilion, picnic sites, playgrounds, and hiking trails. Gifts, groceries, snacks, and ice are available at the Visitor Center (year-round) that overlooks the swimming area and Nature Cabin (summer). Nestled along the shore are 20 fully equipped cabins with kitchens (most with seasonally open fireplaces) and a boat dock. Forty-four Class AAA, 25 Class B, and 6 primitive campsites and a Yurt dot the lakeshore and secluded woodlands. Interpreters provide guided hikes, boat tours, programs, and workshops during summer or by advance request year-round.
