Arkansas Travelers Players to Conduct Free Baseball Skills Clinic For Kids Aged 6 – 14 on April 6 at Hot Springs’ Majestic Park

HOT SPRINGS NATIONAL PARK, Arkansas — Arkansas Travelers baseball players will conduct a free baseball skills clinic for kids aged 6 to 14 at Hot Springs’ Majestic Park baseball complex on Saturday, April 6.

The clinic is sponsored by the Arkansas Travelers Youth Foundation.

“This is a great opportunity for kids to learn from Major League Baseball draft picks the skills they will find useful in their participation in baseball,” Majestic

Park General Manager Derek Phillips said. “They’ll get tips and take part in drills on the historic field at Majestic Park where baseball immortals like Babe Ruth and Jackie Robinson trained and played.”

“Kids will take a swing on the same field where the Babe and other greats like Hank Aaron and Honus Wagner once played. Plus, they’ll learn from current pros who play for the Arkansas Travelers,” Phillips said. He said the clinic will teach basic skills training: Throwing, hitting, fielding and basic baseball IQ.

The Travs players will work with the kids from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., he said. Check-in will begin at 8:30. The clinic is open to boys and girls aged 6 to 14 years. The Arkansas Travelers Youth Foundation will provide bats, balls, gloves and other equipment for those who participate. More information is available at www.majesticpark.org.

Each youth athlete will receive two hours of skills and drills training from Arkansas Travelers Baseball players and other coaches. Each player will get a free souvenir baseball from Academy Sports+Outdoors, a free ticket to an Arkansas Travelers Baseball game and water and sports drinks. After-clinic snacks will be provided by Andy's Frozen Custard.

Phillips said all players must have transportation to and from the free clinic.
