Free Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas, License Plates To Be Installed Without Charge on Residents’ Cars May 17

HOT SPRINGS NATIONAL PARK, Arkansas — The annual free installation of Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas, license plates on cars of Hot Springs and Garland County residents will be held Wednesday, May 17, at the Hot Springs Convention Center,

“These free license plates convert Hot Springs residents’ cars into rolling billboards for the city,” said Bill Solleder, marketing director of Visit Hot Springs.

The free metal license plates will be installed between the hours of 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the front entrance of the Convention Center. The 7 a.m. installation time will allow residents to get the free plates installed before they go to work, Solleder said. “Get there early for free coffee and donuts.”

Visit Hot Springs employees will install the free license plates bearing the city’s name and logo onto residents’ cars without drivers having to leave their cars, he said.

"The plates will let people know where the drivers are from as they travel,” he said. “All the drivers have to do is come to the Convention Center and we’ll install the plates for them if their front bumpers have pre-drilled holes for placement of a license plate. First come, first served.

“This is a great, inexpensive way for Hot Springs and Garland County residents to let the rest of the country know about their hometown. This is the 14th year we’ve done the promotion.”

Solleder said the plates are metal, black-teal-and-white custom license plates with raised letters.
