Galactic Empire, Star Wars Cosplay John Williams Tribute Band, Will Open Spa-Con Season 7 With Concert September 22

HOT SPRINGS NATIONAL PARK, Arkansas — Galactic Empire, which calls itself the galaxy’s foremost progressive technical heavy metal Star Wars cosplay John Williams tribute band, will open Spa-Con Season 7 on Friday, September 22, at the Hot Springs Convention Center.

In announcing the concert date this morning [Tuesday, June 13] the band warned that they plan to “lay waste to Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas, Planet Earth. Prepare for an evening of most impressive heavy metal. There’s no one to stop us this time.”

Tickets for the show will go on sale Thursday at 10 a.m. Ticket information is at www.spa-con.org

Spa-Con Season 7, Hot Springs’ pop culture and comic convention, will run from Friday, September 22, to Sunday, September 24, at the Convention Center.

Galactic Empire’s first music video was a viral hit, gaining over 10 million views with national press coverage including Huffington Post, Guitar World, Entertainment Weekly, and MSNBC, along with a live TV performance on E! Entertainment during coverage of the 2016 Academy Awards.

The band has released two albums with Rise Records along with four more music videos. They’ve toured extensively, with appearances at major festivals, comic cons, sporting events, and supporting arena acts Ozzy Osbourne and Babymetal.

In 2022 the band signed with Pure Noise Records, and released its third studio LP, “Special Edition,” on May 3. The band’s publicity proclaims it “is primed to continue their journey toward becoming the ultimate power in the universe.”

Previously announced features for Spa-Con Season 7 include appearances by the 1972 Winnebago RV featured in the fourth season of “Stranger Things” and the sheriff’s 2000 Ford Crown Victoria from “The Walking Dead.”

Also appearing will be Annabeth Gish, known to “X-Files” fans as Special Agent Monica Reyes, comedian, writer, actor, producer Orlando Jones, who has been called “the King of Fandom” by MTV, and Janeshia Adams-Ginyard, who starred in the blockbuster movies “Black Panther” and “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”
