Opening Ceremonies Monday, Tuesday for 812 Hot Springs Kids Registered for Spring League Baseball at Majestic Park

HOT SPRINGS NATIONAL PARK, Arkansas — Opening night ceremonies Monday and Tuesday evenings will mark the start of Spring League baseball for 812 Hot Springs kids at the Majestic Park baseball complex.

“This promises to be an exciting year for Hot Springs kids,” Majestic Park General Manager Derek Phillips said. “It’s our third year hosting the league, and with 812 children registered it's our biggest year ever.

“We’ll have opening ceremonies Monday at 6:30 p.m. for the kids aged 3 to 6, and on Tuesday evening for kids aged 7 through 12. They’ll start playing games Thursday.”

Throwing out the first pitch of the season on Monday evening will be Hot Springs City Manager Bill Burrough and Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort General Manager Wayne Smith. There will be a special appearance by the Arkansas Travelers mascot, presented by the Arkansas Travelers Youth Foundation.

Phillips said this year’s spring league with have nine Yo-Ball teams for 3- and 4-year-olds; 18 T-ball teams for 5- and 6-year-olds; 13 teams for 9- and 10-year-olds; seven teams for 11- and 12-year-olds; and eight teams for kids aged 13 through 16.
