Registration Opens for 2023 Northwoods Mullet Trail Run And Party on Hot Springs’ Trail System

HOT SPRINGS NATIONAL PARK, Arkansas — Registration is now open for the 2023 Northwoods Mullet: Trail Run & Beaver Bash April 22 on the Northwoods Trail System in Hot Springs.

The 2023 Northwoods Mullet Trail Run, which offers a 25-kilometer (15-mile) option and a 10-kilometer (6.2-mile) option, will be held the morning of April 22. It will be the second year for the event, which drew 145 runners from six states, according to Traci Berry, trails coordinator for Visit Hot Springs.

“We are excited to be partnering with the Spa City Pacers in putting on the Northwoods Mullet Trail Run and Beaver Bash for the second year,” Berry said. “It was a hit in 2022, with 145 runners representing six states registering for the event.

“We continue to see more and more folks using our trails for trail running, with a very strong local running club that continues to grow. We are happy to offer an event that encourages more people to get outside and be active while enjoying our world-class trail system. The business in the front race routes will take runners past amazing views of the three lakes and through beautiful pine groves, finishing with the party in the back — Beaver Bash. It’s a trail running event you don’t want to miss.”

The races begin at the Northwoods Trails – Cedar Glades Park Trailhead. The 25K begins at 8 a.m. and the 10K starts at 9 a.m., Berry said.

The Beaver Bash after-party starts at 11 a.m. and lasts until 2 p.m.

“Spectators who want to skip the business in the front and join the party in the back can purchase Beaver Bash tickets for $10,” she said. The registration website is at https://runsignup.com/Race/AR/HotSprings/NorthwoodsMulletTrailRun

Packet pickup for the races begins Friday, April 21, at Superior Bathhouse Brewery from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Day-of-race packet pickup on Saturday, April 22, at Cedar Glades Park Trailhead will be open until 7:45 a.m. for the 25K and ends at 8:45 a.m. for the 10K.

“Our Northwoods Trails are truly a gem for Hot Springs, and the Spa Pacers Running Club is delighted to partner with Visit Hot Springs and the Northwoods Trails gang to stage the Mullet Run trail runs, said Steve Adkison, Spa City Pacers Board member. “It’s a treat to see how much trail runners from across the state enjoy our Northwoods Trails.”
