HOT SPRINGS NATIONAL PARK, Arkansas — A wolf-howling contest and a witch-cackling contest have been added to the spooky goings-on for a special Halloween-themed Bridge Street LIVE event scheduled for Friday, October 27, in the Bridge Street Entertainment District in downtown Hot Springs.
“Last year's Halloween-themed Bridge Street LIVE was so much fun and well attended, we had to bring it back,” Visit Hot Springs Marketing Director Bill Solleder said in announcing the return of the event. “Bridge Street LIVE is the perfect way to kick off the Halloween weekend in Hot Springs."
The party starts at 5 p.m. and will include a lineup of entertaining options for Halloween revelers of all ages.
Solleder said a free concert by Memphis Soul Revue will begin at 7 p.m., with DJ Courier doing DJ duty starting at 5.
The wolf-howling contest and the witch-cackling contest have been added this year, supplementing costume competition and contests sponsored by The Gangster Museum of America and Historic District Antiques, with $1,000 in cash prizes.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing see how the wolf-howling and witch-cackling contests go,” Solleder said. “Those are something brand new that we've never done before.
“Last year, nearly 100 people competed in the Bridge Street LIVE costume contest, and we got to see some incredible costumes.”
The special Halloween-themed event is free and open to the public. There will be food and drinks for purchase, and other vendors will be on hand.
Pets on a leash are welcome, as are lawn chairs. No coolers are allowed.
